TD Bowles rates ‘battleship ‘Mercedes-Benz vans 06 September 2016

Cowplain, Waterlooville-based plant repair specialist TD Bowles is reporting that its Mercedes-Benz Citan, Vito and Sprinter LCVs have delivered total reliability since it started specifying the vehicles back in 2000.

Managing director Tony Bowles says they have also offered practical, cost-effective operation, and that they are comfortable and safe.

Bowles’ latest addition is a mid-sized Vito – the Extra-long 119 BlueTEC model, specified for his own use with the range-topping Euro 6 190bhp 2.1-litre engine driving through the 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic transmission.

His 19-year-old son Sam, who joined the business earlier this year, is using a Long-bodied Citan Sport 111 CDI with the 110bhp engine, chrome sidebars and tailgate trim, and 16-inch, multi-spoke alloy wheels.

“Given the nature of our business, we recognise high-quality engineering, and Mercedes-Benz vans are as well-built as battleships,” states Bowles.

“We’ve had a series of Sprinters down the years and despite the fact that we often have to venture onto rough sites they’ve proved outstanding reliable.”
