Terberg's electric bin lift wins John Connell Silent award 09 November 2015

The 2015 John Connell Silent Approach Award has been won by Terberg Matec UK for its low-voltage electric bin lifts used in RCVs (refuse collection vehicles) to help mitigate the noise of waste collection.

The award – which is sponsored by Brigade Electronics – recognises significant initiatives to reduce noise nuisance for the benefit of the community and to improve the environment.

“We are proud to receive this award, one that is testament to the innovative thinking and environmentally conscious approach employed by R&D department,” comments Gary Fisher, Terberg contracts manager for the Nottinghamshire Consortium.

“Our line of electric lifts has proven very popular since the development, not only due to the noise reductions but thanks also to the significant fuel savings possible by specifying them.”

The Silent Approach Award was shared by Broxtowe Borough Council for its initiative as part of the Nottingham Consortium of Councils, for which Terberg Matec UK is the lead contractor in purchasing the Terberg equipment.

The awards ceremony was organised by the Noise Abatement Society, and held at the Palace of Westminster, hosted by Bob Neill, MP for Bromley & Chislehurst.
