TEXA launches Axone truck service 23 April 2013

Texa says its new Axone truck service, launched at the CV Show, has been developed to provide a simple tool for everyday vehicle service and maintenance work, particularly for operators and workshops handling mixed fleets.

As vehicle service procedures and some mechanical repairs now require electronic resets, every technician needs access to a tool that can perform these functions, it says.

Axone truck service does so in a handheld unit, with a colour touch screen display that communicates with the vehicle's systems via its diagnostic socket.

In brief, Axone's IDC4 Truck Service software covers: vehicle check-up, by scanning the vehicle's ECUs, reading errors and clearing stored errors; HD-OBD scan tool for heavy duty applications; maintenance service reset (oil change, brake reset, air dryer cartridge replacement etc); and clutch initialisation, injector coding and suspension calibration.

There is also a general vehicle check function, designed to allow a technician to scan all the electronic vehicle systems for fault code during a service, so he or she can ensure that any potential problems are identified while the vehicle is in the workshop.

An additional support feature is the vehicle service information included within the 'Service' software, which provides technicians with information such as service sheets, technical information for tightening torques, lubricant type and filling capacities etc, and wheel alignment.
