The Proving Factory makes it mark at LCV201422 August 2014

Launched last year to help develop low-carbon technology for the automotive sector, The Proving Factory will be showcasing its expertise at the forthcoming Cenex Low Carbon Vehicle 2014 event (10—11 September).

Set up in March 2013 with £21m of public and private funding, The Proving Factory helps small technology developers to take low-carbon technology designs from modelling, through prototyping and then on to full production.

The company will demonstrate how it does this, with pre-production trials of the first technologies taking place this year and planned for production in early 2015.

"Over the last 12 months, The Proving Factory has quickly evolved from a project and is now open for business," says co-founder Richard Bruges.

"At this year's LCV event, we will demonstrate how we take innovative low-carbon vehicle technologies and develop them for production to the quality and volumes needed by OEMs to get these products into mainstream use."

The company is investing in two facilities to support its work. One, for component manufacture, is in Rotherham, with another assembly facility in the West Midlands.
