TIP adds more mobile units to nationwide service fleet 16 July 2012

TIP Trailer Services has added a further six new Renault Master mobile service units (MSUs), along with six more technicians, to its nationwide network, covering the UK and Ireland.

The new units brings TIP's nationwide fleet to almost 50 mobile service units, providing support not just for its FleetCare fleet maintenance contracts, but also for the existing TIP rental fleet and for non account PayGo customers.

"These vehicles are completely self-sufficient, requiring no external air supply," comments Karl Davies, services and marketing director, TIP Trailer Services.

"Their specification and high equipment levels give us the facility to check, inspect, service and repair trailers, either on customer premises or out on the road," he adds.

Supplied by sister company GE Fleet on a three-year deal, each of the Renault Master LWB35 panel vans has been fitted with a BOTT conversion kit that includes racking, generators, compressors, small tools and a trailer check system that covers monitoring of all electrical functions on trailers.

"Our FleetCare product, covering third-party maintenance, has expanded year-on-year to form a major business division within TIP," comments Davies.

"As a result, we have developed a nationwide structure to support these services, of which the MSUs are a valuable asset that enhances the speed of response and quality of service that we can provide to our customers. "
