TIP Trailers upgrades mobile coverage with Renault Master27 July 2016

TIP Trailer Services has taken delivery of 17 new Renault Master LWB, high roof panel vans, which have been equipped as mobile service units (MSUs) for its 80-strong mobile engineer fleet across the UK and Ireland.

The MSUs are used by TIP technicians to work on customer’s trailers. Fully kitted out with workshop equipment, shelving, power supply and power tools, the vans enable the technicians to deliver trailer service and breakdown support services – including pre-MOT inspections, tyre servicing, diagnostics checks and preventative maintenance.

The MSUs can also handle more complex trailer check diagnostics by simulating the role of tractor unit to test the brakes on a trailer.

“With the significant number of new contract gains in the past 12 months, we needed to increase our MSU fleet to offer our customers the highest possible levels of trailer maintenance service support,” says Mike Percival, TIP’s managing director.

“These vehicles offer a very generous payload that has allowed us to specify the optimal level of equipment and parts to cover most eventualities in terms of trailer servicing and maintenance. Nearly all trailer-related maintenance can be done on-site, including curtainsider repairs and even some minor bodywork.”
