Total Motion moves to Agilis CrossClimate for 17,500 vans05 October 2018

Fleet management company Total Motion is converting 17,500 light commercial vehicles to Michelin’s Agilis CrossClimate tyres, making it one of the largest users of the new LCV tyre in the UK.

The company swapped to all-Michelin tyres six years ago, but predicts the move to the new all-season tyre will deliver 3,000 more miles per set, compared with its outgoing summer/winter tyre policy.

Total Motion’s Harry Hill says the new policy will save substantially on tyre storage costs, eliminate the downtime associated with seasonal tyre swaps as well as deliver improved vehicle performance – making a win-win situation for the firm’s customers.

“We introduced the CrossClimate+ tyres to our car fleet when the tyre was launched, and our customers reported superb levels of performance,” he says.

“As soon as the Agilis CrossClimate tyre became available for light commercial vehicles earlier this year we had the confidence that we would get the same results,” says Hill.

The Agilis CrossClimate is billed as a summer tyre with full winter capability. It has a rugged tread pattern and is manufactured with sidewall and shoulder protection features for longer service, including protection from kerbing.

A new tread-wear indicator has a four-level gauge so drivers can easily see the level of remaining tread. “Our customers report back that it’s so easy to use and takes out any guesswork about whether the tyres need replacing, ultimately saving them money by not replacing tyres before they’re due,” says Hill.
