Tower Transit opens new bus deck facility27 October 2017

Bus operator Tower Transit has completed a new bus deck at its Westbourne Park garage, in central London, with space for 150 new buses.

The London and Singapore operator used an £8 million funding package to facilitate the completion of the new deck, after securing a £29 million finance facility.

HSBC and Santander each provided £14.5 million of funding.

The bus deck has been delivered as part of a development undertaken by Crossrail, which started construction at the site in 2008. Tower Transit’s depot is now one of the largest in central London.

Paul Cox, chief financial officer of Tower Transit, said: “The new bus deck will allow us to effectively and efficiently service the routes we currently operate, and cement our position as a key operator in the heart of central London. We look forward to making the best use of the improved facilities.”

He added: “The funding from HSBC and Santander working together has formed part of the capital contribution required to complete on the huge infrastructure project. The professional guidance and expertise from the banks allowed us to smoothly complete the project and commence operations quickly.”
