Trakm8 aims to help cut CO2 with CV Show exhibits22 March 2011

Following the EU's announcement of new CO2 emissions limits for LCV manufacturers, Trakm8 is aiming to help by offering accurate measurements for van fleets – and visitors to the CV Show in April will be able to find out how.

Its technology is the result of research funded by the Technology Strategy Board and Imperial College London.

Trakm8 says it is the only vehicle telematics company able to accurately measure the amount of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere, without relying on manufacturers' estimates.

"For green-thinking fleet managers, CO2 is increasingly becoming a major factor in determining which LCV to purchase," comments John Watkins, Trakm8's CEO.

"Using our own algorithm, we can accurately measure the amount of CO2 each van in a fleet produces, and identify areas that can be adapted to reduce the amount of CO2 being emitted.'"

Also being displayed at the show will be Trakm8's fuel consumption reducing technology – its latest hardware, the T8, as well as user friendly web portal SWIFT.
