TransLinc improves its IT for fleet managers 14 October 2010

Fleet management and passenger transport service provider TransLinc has upgraded its communications network infrastructure to a private wide area network (PWAN) in order to deliver secure connections for users, wherever they are.

Jason Townsend, TransLinc's IT manager, says that its new system will allow fleet management data to be accessed live from a secure central server – so streamlining accessibility and ensuring that TransLinc's employees and customers get the most up to date information.

He also says that future online services will include training videos, and advice and guidance on fleet management and passenger transport services, to help customers comply with legislation.

"There is a host of new online services that we are looking to provide in the coming months, so we needed to ensure that the correct infrastructure was in place," comments Townsend. "As an organisation, we needed to upgrade our IT systems in order to improve usability, functionality and flexibility as we grow the business."
