Trimble announces insurance tie-up 02 February 2011

Trimble is to collaborate with insurance company Zurich on the insurer's new integrated fleet risk management programme, Zurich Fleet Intelligence (ZFI).

As part of the deal, Trimble will offer its telematics devices to Zurich customers looking to minimise fleet operating costs and reduce crashes, while keeping their vehicles on the road, and their drivers safe.

ZFI combines data from telematic devices with Zurich's analytical tools to turn the data into information that can help fleet managers reduce their fleet operating costs. It also aims to optimise vehicle journey planning, achieve increased fuel economy and improve drivers' driving skills and knowledge.

"We are extremely pleased to work with Zurich on its fleet intelligence programme," comments Bryn Fosburgh, vice president of Trimble's mobile solutions division.

"As part of the programme, Trimble will offer Zurich's risk management and driver training services to complement our telematics solutions, in order to help organisations manage risks, increase fleet driver safety and improve productivity."
