The new truck is a TGS 26.320 6x2 curtainsider specified with the D2066LF81 320bhp Euro 6 engine, delivering 1,600Nm of torque and driving through a ZF 12 speed AMT (automated manual transmission).
“I don’t just look at the quality of the truck, but what is the best overall for the company,” explains AW Lumb director Martin Keay.
“Being based in Tamworth, we are not overrun with HGV maintenance depots [and] I don’t want vehicles being driven miles away on a Friday night and then drivers having to pick each other up and drive to collect them on a Monday morning,” he continues.
“Now that the Aquila centre closest to us has opened up its operation to vehicles such as ours it makes all the difference.”
“By opening for longer hours and employing more technicians, we are able to service more vehicles and that, in turn, means we can maintain customer vehicles at times to suit them,” comments Peter Jones, managing director of Aquila Truck Centres.
