Truckfest first for new Volvo FH16-750 Euro 6 25 April 2014

The new Euro 6 FH16, in 750bhp 6x2 tractor guise, is to make its UK public debut on Volvo Trucks' stand at Truckfest Peterborough on 4—5 May 2014.

"Truckfest visitors have tremendous passion and enthusiasm, so will know that the Volvo FH16 will prove to be a major draw for enthusiasts and drivers alike," comments Volvo Trucks UK managing director Arne Knaben.

"Now, with the latest Euro 6 driveline, we hope lots of people will enjoy being able to get up close and have a good look at this amazing truck, in addition to the other new Volvos on the stand."

Seven other trucks from Volvo's Euro 6 range will also appear at Truckfest. In addition to three FH tractor units, there will be a new Volvo FM-500, equipped with the high-spec Globetrotter LXL cab and Volvo's Dynamic Steering.

Two 4x2 rigids – a new Volvo FL and a new Volvo FE – will also be on display fitted with Volvo's latest automated transmissions. While the 4.4m wheelbase FL is equipped with I-Sync, the 6.45m wheelbase FE will have the AT2612E version of I-Shift, which was introduced on the FE series in 2013.

Truckfest Peterborough will also play host to a new Volvo FMX 8x4 tipper – a 5.1m wheelbase truck fitted with a Globetrotter cab and the DriveFM+ trim level and Living 1 package.

This truck will be powered by the 13-litre D13K engine, rated at 540bhp, driving through an AT2612E I-Shift automated transmission. Bodywork will be a Thompson Loadmaster Light tipper.

And finally, there will also be a specially-painted FH16-750, celebrating Birmingham-based HD Rickett's 50-years in business. The air-brushed mural features 'Hell Drivers', the iconic 1957 black-and-white trucking film starring a young Sean Connery.
