Turners (Soham) and Isotrack honoured for fuel savings 24 May 2013

A fuel efficiency programme pioneered by Turners (Soham) and Isotrak has been recognised by the FTA's (Freight Transport Association) Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme (LCRS).

The programme led to Turners achieving significant operational savings in fuel and CO2 emissions across its fleet of 850 HGVs.

The 'Carbon Reduction Through Fuel Efficiency' award-winning system identifies alternative driver routes, zones them according to efficiency, and maps them in red, amber and green to show drivers where to go.

"We have far exceeded the typical environmental and fuel performance achievable using a standard telematics-based programme," comments Terry Skelton, fuel programme manager for Turners.

"Our relationship has enabled us to take an out-of-the-box solution and develop it to meet our needs for identifying and monitoring driver attributes across the organisation," he adds.

Isotrak helped Turners develop the system to enable the operator to monitor and encourage driving styles that have a positive effect on fuel efficiency.

It can also identify the most fuel-efficient vehicles by type and manufacturer, so that Turners can compare performance data with those published by the vehicle manufacturers.
