Two days to the IRTE 2015 national conference 15 September 2015

With just two days to the national IRTE Conference – this year being staged at Chesford Grange in Warwickshire on 17 September – the IRTE says delegates can expect a thought-provoking day that will set them up for improving efficiency and competitiveness.

CVDC (Cambridge Vehicle Dynamics Consortium) director professor David Cebon – who is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering – will set the ball rolling, with an in depth analysis of emerging technologies for commercial vehicles and road transport.

Transport minister Andrew Jones and acting London Commissioner Leon Daniels will also address the conference via video link, explaining the importance of CLOCS and FORS in the drive to improve the industry’s image and safety record.

Other headline presentations include Steve Carroll, of Cenex (Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technologies), who will provide the latest on the government’s Low Carbon Truck trial, with more than 300 mostly dual-fuel vehicles.

And delegates will also hear from senior engineers at Brit European, Cummins, DHL, Loughborough University, Ricardo and SIG – as well as and McLaren F1 Racing – on issues ranging from Euro 7 engine considerations to hybrid engines and revolutionised truck designs.

The event is sponsored by Mobil Delvac 1, Brigade Electronics, Bullwell Trailer Solutions, Disclock, FORS, the Freight Transport Association, Microlise, Pirelli, TRW and Volvo Trucks.
