UK debut for mia U urban electric panel van 07 September 2012

Electric commercial vehicle supplier ePower Trucks has launched a battery-powered mini van, measuring 1.64m wide and 3.19m long.

The 'mia U' is a compact panel van, designed for urban transport and delivery applications, with a tight turning circle, a range of up to 100km (62 miles), and a top speed of 100km/h (62mph).

Power comes courtesy of a 12kW/h battery pack, which takes five hours to charge and costs less than 1p per km in 'fuel'. The vehicle is compatible with standard EV charging points offering 220V/16A charging.

The lithium ion phosphate batteries can also be semi-charged, and a 10-minute charge will give the vehicle an additional 8km of range. The batteries are warranted for three years or 50,000km, and the vehicle is warranted for two years.

"The range, payload, price and running costs of the mia U combine to make it a really attractive electric van for tradesmen, contractors and delivery companies," believes Jerry Hanss, managing director of ePower Trucks.
