Viezu remapping helps BT Fleet fleet slash costs 27 August 2013

BlueOptimize, an ECU (engine control unit) remapping technology has helped BT Fleet save around £30m in fuel costs across 24,000 vehicles over eight years.

Viezu CEO Paul Busby says that, through a combination of speed, revs and throttle limiting, tailored to the operator's vehicle usage, BlueOptimize can save up to 15% in fuel costs and 20% CO2 emissions.

He states that BT Fleet's 24,000 vehicles had new remap files provided over a six-month period via its 63 workshops, with an average response time of just five minutes.

This speed ensured upgrades were completed swiftly and without any delays or interruption when vehicles came in for regular service and MOT work, says Busby.

"Fleets remain as committed as ever to reducing their carbon footprint and their running costs," states Busby.

"BlueOptimize is being widely recognised as the one of the best solutions to this challenge without the huge expense and investment needed to completely replace a vehicle fleet."
