Vision Techniques to show new safety brake at CV Show 09 March 2016

Vehicle safety specialist Vision Techniques will be demonstrating its brake system, which prevents vehicle runaways, at this year’s CV show (26—28 April, NEC, Birmingham).

Nigel Armstrong, developer of the VT BrakeSafe system, explains that it is the only safety system that automatically applies the vehicle handbrake if a driver forgets to do so when leaving the vehicle.

“With the overwhelming interest we’ve had in BrakeSafe over the past six months we’ve realised that runaways are our industries silent danger,” comments Armstrong.

Runaway accidents continue to effect freight, construction and waste vehicles across the UK, with existing technology only able to sound an alarm – not prevent a possible accident.

“Now, there’s no excuse because we can prevent them once and for all,” says Armstrong.

BrakeSafe activates even when the vehicle’s ignition is switched off, and Armstrong says it is suitable for new installs and as a retrofit option.

Vision Techniques will also be demonstrating its award-winning cyclist safety system VT TurnAware, which detects approaching cyclists using video analytics.

It will also show upgraded recording technology, including VT Record – a 4G live streaming multi-channel DVR, with live Telematics, and the VT Red dashboard camera with ‘clip-to-cloud’ event management.
