"This is a pretty unusual unit as Schwing Stetter doesn't tend to mount its pumps on Volvo trucks," says Steve Brown, managing director of the Croydon, South London based firm.
"[But] we absolutely wanted to use a Volvo FL and Schwing Stetter in Hanger Lane, Perivale carried out the work and handled the whole vehicle type approval for us."
The new truck, supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London at Croydon, joins nine truck mixers at Easymix Concrete, most of which are Volvo.
"To me, the Volvo dealership here in Croydon is ahead of the game," explains Brown.
"The staff are doers, not simply talkers, and, when needed, they pull out all the stops to keep us on the road."
The FL was specified with a 4.7m wheelbase and rear air suspension, and is powered by a Volvo D5K210 four-cylinder, 5.1 litre engine delivering 210bhp and 800Nm torque at 2,800 rpm.
Easymix Concrete selected the six-speed overdrive Volvo I-Sync automated gearbox.
Also, as with the company's other mixer trucks, the FL has been equipped with a four-camera system, providing all-round visibility. It was also supplied with a nearside low kerb safety window.
The truck was supplied on a Volvo Gold R&M contract.
