Volvo to show two high-vis trucks at next week’s CLOCS event 18 March 2016

Volvo Trucks is to bring a new FE low entry cab (LEC) 6x2 rear-steer tipper with grab to the fifth CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Cyclist Safety) Progress exhibition and conference next Wednesday (23 March 2016) at ExCeL, London.

The truck is also set to exhibit a low-height N3 on-road spec FM 8x4 tipper truck with a lower window in the passenger door.

This truck will be in the high visibility livery of the Metropolitan Police, being used regularly for cycle awareness and Exchanging Places road safety events.

The 3,900 mm wheelbase FE LEC tipper delivers the low seating position for driver that offers the sought after direct vision from the cab – particularly with its low, forward mounting and the lower vision panel in the nearside door and behind the driver.

Volvo mkes the point that this truck’s 200 mm lower driving position than the standard FE plus its ‘kneeling’ function, make the 6x2 FE LEC suitable for urban applications, such as light duty construction and distribution.

For the record, its Thompson Loadmaster tipper bodywork is an 11m³ capacity, heavy-duty steel, muckaway specification.

The truck is also fitted with an Epsilon M125LC68 crane with a KM602-500 bucket. The underfloor tipping gear is the Binotto 269.
