Volvo’s New FMX tipper at Demolition Expo 2013 today 29 June 2013

Volvo Trucks is making its debut today (Saturday 29 June) at the Demolition Expo show at Arden Brickworks, near Solihull, Birmingham, with one of its new FMX 8x4 Euro 6-compliant tippers.

The Boweld-bodied truck is being displayed on Volvo Trucks' sister company Volvo Construction Equipment's stand, and is essentially the same as the unit launched this year at the huge BAUMA show, in Germany.

Its specification includes Volvo's latest D13K420, 13-litre Euro-6 engine, which develops 420hp from 1,400 to 1,800rpm and 2,100Nm of torque between 860 and 1,400rpm.

It has also been equipped with the new AT2612E 12-speed I-Shift automated transmission with the latest version of Volvo's predictive I-See software.

Volvo explains that this optimises gear selection, acceleration and engine braking to match the terrain, as recorded by any other I-See-equipped Volvo trucks that have travelled the route – so minimising fuel consumption.

Demolition Expo is organised by the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) and visitors will be able to view the latest machinery from Volvo Construction Equipment as well as the latest version of the FMX.

Saturday is a family day at this event, which is close to Junction 6 of the M42 and just off the A45 Coventry Road.
