VW Group win ‘will extend reach of brands’ to government fleets27 January 2015

Volkswagen Group UK has secured a three-year deal with Crown Commercial Services (CCS), giving the manufacturer preferred supplier status to the public sector, police and emergency services.

The CCS vehicle supply framework agreement started last month and supersedes two previous agreements that treated public sector and police and emergency vehicles separately.

This, says Volkswagen, will give it a wider audience for group brands, which include VW Commercial Vehicles and VW cars, as well as Seat, Skoda and Audi.

The new agreement, says VW's technical sales manager Steve Cowell, will enable the group "to showcase vehicles within our range for a variety of different roles – from public sector pool cars, through police 'beat cars' and ambulances, to motorway traffic vehicles".

VW was one of five manufacturers awarded commercial vehicle contracts under the new arrangement.
