Wabco shows first ever evasive manoeuvre assist at IAA19 September 2016

Truck safety, braking and connectivity systems manufacturer Wabco says it will be launching the transport industry’s first ‘evasive manoeuvre assist’ system at IAA 2016 in Hanover (22—29 September 2016).

The new system, which not only automatically applies emergency brakes when it detects an impending crash, but also safety steers trucks out of harm’s way if the driver fails to react, was jointly developed with ZF.

Wabco will also be showcasing what it describes as “smart, secure solutions for on-board and cloud-based communications” at the event – leveraging intelligent systems on trucks, buses and semi-trailers and demonstrating how it believes it will empower fleets with advanced fleet management and aftermarket services.

“At IAA 2016, we will continue to show what differentiates Wabco as a leading supplier to original equipment makers and fleets around the world as we mobilise vehicle intelligence to improve commercial vehicle safety and efficiency,” states Jacques Esculier, chairman and chief executive of Wabco.

“As our industry converges toward autonomous driving, Wabco is at the forefront of the essential technologies required to turn this vision into reality.”
