Wabco unveils CV remote diagnostics solution at Automechanika14 September 2016

Wabco will unveil its remote diagnostics solution for commercial vehicle fleets at the Automechanika event, starting today (13 September) in Frankfurt.

The technology, says Wabco, is a first in Europe, offering fleet operators a remote diagnostics platform that supports multiple brands of commercial vehicles and can be integrated within a fleet management system.

Co-developed with sister company WabcoWurth, the remote diagnostics works with TX-Sky onboard computers by Transics, monitoring all electronic vehicle systems including engine control, braking, air suspension and driver assistance.

Data is transmitted to Transics’ fleet management platform, TX-Connect, which analyses and translates it into easy-to-understand maintenance and service information within the FMS portal.

The result, says Wabco, is a system that can increase vehicle uptime by avoiding failures, reducing unplanned maintenance and optimising service scheduling.

It is already on trial with transport and logistics operator Bartkowiak, whose fleet manager Andreas Manke says: “We are very pleased to be among the first to test Wabco’s remote diagnostics solution in a real-world environment.

“We are especially enthusiastic about moving from numerous different platforms to a single solution that works for all our vehicles from various manufacturers. As we gain experience with the system, we are discovering more opportunities to improve vehicle uptime and overall efficiency.”
