WasteCare adds Isuzu Grafter gas bottle carriers to fleet11 June 2021

National recycling company WasteCare has run the Isuzu marque at 7.5 tonne and above across its business for over a 20-year period. However, recently the company has expanded its relationship with Isuzu by adding its first ever Isuzu Grafter 3.5 tonne trucks to its nationwide fleet.

Operating from multiple depots, 10 new Isuzu Grafter N35.125 (E) dropside rigids are now working in the company’s gas cylinder recycling division where they are repatriating used gas cylinders from local authorities, waste management companies and metal traders, as well as most major bottled gas suppliers.

Peter Hunt, managing director, WasteCare Group, said plus points for the Grafter were the powertrain, compact size and payload.

The rigids have been supplied to WasteCare by Isuzu truck dealer Harry Moore Group in Exeter, who also commissioned the gas bottle carrier bodywork to an agreed WasteCare specification. These vehicles also feature DEL 500kg rear tail lifts. They are operating out of nine WasteCare service centres across the UK, typically covering between 80,000 and 100,000 miles during their working life.

WasteCare Group is a national recycling company specialising in hazardous items, ranging from domestic appliances to portable batteries and recycled gas cylinders. The company operates through 17 sites, employing over 500 people. Established in 1980, the company is now involved in over 1,000 different streams of waste recycling from its commercial and industrial customers.
