We Move Bikes specifies awesome truck for awesome Harleys 13 August 2010

Two new all-black 4x2 Volvo FH tractor units have joined Gloucester-based We Move Bikes' fleet on its Harley-Davidson contract, transporting some of the most exotic icons to exhibitions across Europe.

Specified for long distance operations, the Volvos are equipped with the Globetrotter cab, and are powered by Volvo's 13-litre diesel engine, rated at 500hp and matched to an I-Shift fully-automated gearbox. Dual 500-litre fuel tanks and extra large AdBlue reservoirs were specified to minimise refuelling stops.

It looks pretty classy too, with chassis-mounted side skirts, Alcoa Durabright wheels, chequer-plate chassis infill and Kelsa light bars on the front and sides. On the inside, there's a full-leather cab interior, refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker and flat-screen TV.

"Our drivers are expected to keep their vehicles in immaculate condition at all times and have to be ambassadors for both Harley-Davidson and their own company when they're on the road," comments We Move Bikes director Paul Lusty.

"The Volvos were purchased because of their reliability, driver comfort and classy appearance," says We Move Bikes director Tony Davis. "Our fleet colour is black and this fits very comfortably with the Harley-Davidson livery of black and orange."

Supplied by Wales and West Truck & Bus, the units will be serviced under contract by the Dealer's nearby Gloucester depot.
