Weir wastes no time ordering new MAN TGS trucks21 January 2016

Recycling and waste management business Weir Waste has taken delivery of three new MAN TGS hookloaders as replacements in its 50-strong fleet.

Weir ordered the vehicles after seeing impressive performance from a used TGX 6x2 tractor acquired last year through MAN’s TopUsed programme.

The new hookloaders, supplied through MAN’s rapid TrucksToGo initiative, are all TGS 35.400 8x4 BB trucks, with 12.4-litre engines delivering 400bhp at 1,800 rpm, and driving through MAN’s 12-speed TipMatic transmission.

Weir Waste managing director Danny Weir says MAN put together a compelling deal for the new trucks.

“The price and service package made it an attractive proposition… and we will certainly be looking at the possibility of more MANs as we replace our fleet,” he says.
