W&J Chambers wins Dennison’s Volvo FMX auction03 November 2015

Building and concrete products supplier W&J Chambers recently took delivery of a 2014 Volvo FMX 8x4 tipper, having won the truck at a silent auction from Northern Ireland dealer Dennison Commercials.

The vehicle – originally a Dennison’s demonstrator – was specified from new with extras including a Volvo Drive+ package with Bluetooth, air conditioning and arm rests, a beacon bar, front and rear strobe lights and a reversing camera.

It also has the I-Shift AMT (automated manual transmission), with Volvo’s construction software, and Volvo’s Dynafleet telematics.

As for the body, that’s a double-skinned steel C-Tec body, with the Hyva front end ram.

Dennisons made the decision to offer the demonstrator to the marketplace via a silent auction due to the high demand for such vehicles in the second-hand market.

Bidders were invited to tender their offer via Dennison’s Used Truck website, www.denn-ex.com.

Will and Alan Chambers, who own the Drumahoe, Co. Londonderry based operator, have now had the vehicle painted in the own company colours and Dennison’s vehicle handover specialist David Bowes has provided driver training.
