Ford promotes extended wheelbase Transit chassis cab conversion17 February 2021

A new extended wheelbase Ford Transit chassis cab curtainsider conversion offers up to 10 pallets of cargo space on a 3.5t gvw vehicle.

The vehicle is based on a front-wheel-drive version with 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine, and includes an above-cab sleeping pod.

Ford says: “Tight city streets, twisty rural roads and extra tolls on big trucks can mean a full-size heavy goods vehicle is not always the best solution for businesses moving cargo. That’s why transport companies in Europe often use vans converted to carry the same type of load pallets as larger trucks, and now we’ve stretched our front-wheel drive Transit chassis cab to do exactly that.

“It offers the power and comfort needed for hauling goods across the continent, and its extended bare rear chassis can be converted by our of network almost 200 Qualified Vehicle Modifiers to create a large cargo space and sleeping area.”
