r2c Online releases Earned Recognition explainer video with DVSA31 January 2018

Fleet management software providers r2c Online has released an Earned Recognition explainer video featuring the DVSA.

In the video, Philip Lapczuk, Earned Recognition project manager at the DVSA, explains how the scheme will work and dispels many of the industry myths surrounding it. Viewers will discover the benefits of taking part, KPIs operators will need to achieve, and how DVSA sees the future of digital compliance.

This release is aligned with a key milestone in the Earned Recognition pilot as participants start benefiting from taking part. From 31st January, approved ER pilot operators will be exempt from random roadside checks, including customers of r2c who have already been accepted onto the trial.

Unless there is something obviously wrong, vehicles with Earned Recognition status will no longer be stopped. These changes are being enforced in preparation for the scheme’s launch later this spring.

Philip Lapczuk said: “DVSA wants to work with ER operators to address any issues, rather than take enforcement action. Our expectation is that you will contact us if something is going wrong. It’s up to you to call us and let us know what you’ve done to rectify it.”

Nick Walls, managing director of r2c Online, commented: “Years of investment and consideration have been put into making Earned Recognition a reality and we have designed proven and robust technology to underpin any operator’s transitions. We see it as the first big step in a major industry transition to digital compliance.

The pilot is closing soon, with the final application deadline on 28th February. Application forms can be requested by emailing remote.compliance@vosa.gsi.gov.uk or get started by contacting r2c at info@r2conline.com.
