Reading Borough Council is a continually high achieving Transport Authority with a proven track record of service delivery and the following exciting opportunity has arisen.

We are looking to recruit a Transport Development Control Manager to lead and manage the Transport Development Control Team. We require an ambitious individual with the drive and desire to succeed in creating a balanced approach for all users of the network whilst providing an interface between the Transport and Planning functions at the Council.

Reporting to the Strategic Transport Programme Manager you will deliver innovative transport solutions and implement transport policy through the planning process. Other responsibilities will include representing Reading Borough Council at hearings and planning appeals as well as presenting to Elected Members at Council meetings. You will also work closely with the Transport Planning Team in the delivery of aspects of the current Local Transport Plan.

Experience in negotiating S106 and CIL contributions and strong interpersonal skills are essential alongside management experience and the ability to react to changing circumstances in a positive way.
