Drivers Direct launches logistics division for trucks and people

Commercial drivers’ agency Drivers Direct has launched a logistics division which, it says, is aimed at improving services to clients.

Gethin Roberts, managing director and founder of Drivers Direct, says clients have been requesting additional logistics support and that the new division will include vehicles and LGV drivers.

Headquartered in Royton, near Oldham, the new logistics division is initially offering access to more than 20 commercial vehicles.

"This is an important step forward for the business," comments Roberts.

"Having clients ask us to provide this service has meant that we've been able to hit the ground running and quickly establish a solid customer base."

And he adds that Drivers Direct Logistics customers include "some of the country's premier hauliers" as well as "a market leading retail and parcel delivery company".

Established in 2002, Drivers Direct covers all driver classes, from chauffeurs and fork lift driver's to LGV Class 1 and 2 drivers.

The firm supplies more than 1000 drivers a week to clients from across the public and private sectors.
