Isuzu is strong choice for steel fabricator02 October 2013

Isle of Man steel fabricator Wilson & Collins has taken delivery of a new 5-tonne Isuzu N50.150 rigid truck to deliver products and equipment around the island.

The new vehicle replaces a 5-tonne Isuzu NPR, and was supplied by local dealer B&C Transport.

Fitted with a dropside body, which Wilson & Collins fabricated in-house, it also has a Fassi Micro 25A.12 crane. The Isuzu rigid weighs in at 3,200kgs, giving it a potential payload of just under 2 tonnes.

Gary Flowers of Wilson & Collins says: "By working closely with B&C Transport when finalising the truck specification, the new Isuzu really is perfect for our requirements. Its predecessor had lasted extremely well, easily handling the varying job requirements that even included trips to Europe. Together with the good service we get from our local Isuzu dealer, the proven performance of the Isuzu really did sell itself to us when we were looking for a replacement truck."

The new Isuzu, which went into service in June this year, will have a working life of five to seven years, on a six-day week journey cycle covering approximately 18,000 miles per annum – a high mileage for this type of vehicle on the Isle of Man.
