RHA backs charity Transaid07 June 2016

The Road Haulage Association (RHA) has raised more than £5,000 for charity Transaid in its first year as a corporate member.

At an RHA event last week, chief executive Richard Burnett (left) presented Transaid’s CEO Gary Forster with a cheque for the donation, raised through RHA’s effort to secure donations when its members join or renew.

As well as the financial backing, the RHA is taking a more active supporting role – notably, in Burnett’s pledge to the Cycle South Africa challenge next year, when he will ride 450km in five days.

This summer, RHA’s technical director Steve Biddle and training manager Bob Auchterlonie will swap their offices for a two-week secondment to Transaid’s new road safety programme in Malawi.
