Switch turns to DAF with four-vehicle order

Switch International has taken delivery of four new DAF vehicles, including a New LF rigid with Montracon curtainsided body – thought to be the first of its kind to go into UK operation.

Supplied by dealer Watts Truck & Van, in Cardiff, Switch’s New LF rigid is joined by three New XF 480 FTG tractors with Super Space cabs.

The New LF 280 18-tonne rigid has rear-air suspension and the Montracon body is built to ENXL rating, with an all-bolted galvanised steel underframe, post-less design for easy side-access loading and a Dhollandia DH-RM.20 tuckaway tail-lift.

A subsidiary of TWT Logistics Group, Switch International is putting the new additions to work on its long-distance haulage and pallet network operations.

Repair and maintenance is carried out in-house at the operator’s nine-bay workshop in South Wales.

TWT owner Trevor Taylor says: “We’re a family company and handle our business in a straightforward and honest way. When people sell us a lorry, we simply want them to stand behind us in the event of any manufacturing issues – that’s all.

“We have had some in the past who seemed to find that quite difficult, but the relationship with Watts Truck & Van and DAF has been very good over the years, which is why we keep coming back to them.”
