World premiere: Mercedes’ first production autonomous truck takes to the road 30 September 2015

The first series-production autonomous truck to drive on a public road in Europe will make its maiden voyage in Germany on Friday 2 October (2015).

Daimler Trucks is to host Winfried Kretschmann, prime minister of the Baden-Württemberg, and Daimler truck and bus board member Dr Wolfgang Bernhard on board for the inaugural drive.

Mercedes-Benz is billing the event as “a further important step along the path to this technology's readiness for the market, and to a sustainable, safe freight transport of the future”.
