CV Show 2024

The CV Show 2024 runs from 23-25 April at the NEC and it promises to be a fantastic opportunity for transport operators and professional engineers alike

The main exhibition at the CV Show in 2024 remains a showcase for cutting-edge innovations in electric vehicles, decarbonisation strategies and transformative technologies. However, this year’s event prioritises a deeper exploration of the people in this dynamic field by using seminars to highlight some of the industry’s leading figures.

For example, IRTE will open day three of the show with an inspiring talk by industry veteran George Haywood, workshop manager of TIP Group. Haywood’s session focusing on competencies and skills delves into the importance of professional registration in elevating careers and equipping engineers for the complexities of the modern workshop. Don’t forget to book sessions of interest before they fill up.

Haywood’s presentation is part of a three-day, on-site seminar that has been introduced for this year’s event. Designed to complement the traditional exhibition, the conference-style element will cover all of the hot topics concerning the industry, ministerial announcements, decarbonisation and the people that operate within it. Organisers say the seminar offers a host of commercial sponsorship opportunities to further promote brand awareness to industry colleagues but, more importantly, decision-makers with the authority to invest.

With all the latest vehicles, trailers, equipment and technology on display, the 2024 Commercial Vehicle Show https://cvshow.com/ will be unmissable for thousands of executives, directors, senior managers, engineers and anyone operating commercial vehicles.

For operators, it is the annual meeting place to network, while for sector suppliers, it is the ideal opportunity to showcase their brand and products to a huge audience of prospective customers.

ON A JOURNEY

One of the key messages that will be conveyed to exhibitors to the IRTE stand at the CV Show will be the importance of your professional registration journey. IRTE will have experts on hand who can explain more and answer any questions that you might have about future opportunities in the transport sector.

Professional registration is the status that gives you an edge with your clients, makes you more employable for a more senior position within the industry and raises your profile among your colleagues and employers. It also provides a benchmark that proves you are willing to push yourself and that you have met globally recognised professional standards.

Whether you are new to professional registration, or planning to upgrade to higher levels, IRTE can help. Registration experts and seasoned professional review interview assessors are available at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham and will be running one-to-one consultation sessions. These scheduled appointments will answer any pressing questions you might have on the subject of professional registration with the Engineering Council (EngC) or Society for the Environment (SocEnv). The registration experts will also discuss alternative routes to your professional status such as Technical Report Option (TRO) or Experiential Option (ExpO).

The consultation covers a range of elements, including: a review of your CV or qualifications, providing advice on the best career path to take and discussions about your technical report project ideas or ExpO submission forms. They will also be able to point you in the right direction towards resources for your registration process and also provide the opportunity to start the process there and then.
