Cartwright rentals announces increased business for 2011 20 July 2011

The rentals arm of the Cartwright Group has grown in the first six months of 2011, with business increasing by fully 9% year-on-year.

Demand for rented trailers has seen such a rise among firms across the UK that the company has expanded its fleet by 200 trailers just since the start of this year, bringing the total number of vehicles available to 4,650, according to the company.

Paul Burn, Cartwright's rental sales director, says that growth is the result of several contracts, both with new and existing clients. And he adds that many are as a result of third party recommendations.

"Our customer base has grown more in the first six months of this year, than during the same period in the previous four years," states Burn. "The new contracts are mainly with larger manufacturing companies, national logistics companies and retailers," he explains.

Burn has no doubt that trailer rentals are entering their busiest period. "We are in the fortunate position where, with some fleet types, on the odd occasion, demand has actually outstripped supply," he says.
