Crossroads Volvo dealership acquires Hartshorne group 06 August 2010

Yorkshire-based Volvo commercial vehicles dealership Crossroads Truck and Bus has acquired Hartshorne in the West Midlands.

Crossroads managing director Martin Cronin says that the acquisition brings "strength in depth", as the combined business works to provide "even greater customer service".

The combined businesses operate from 20 Volvo dealerships and have 1,000 employees and an annual turnover of £200 million.

Cronin explains that the intention is for the two commercial vehicle dealerships to operate independently, with Hartshorne and Crossroads keeping their own identities.

"The addition of Hartshorne to the group will give us greater opportunity to add value to customers' operations by providing consistency and continuity across the key distribution centres of the Midlands and Yorkshire," comments Cronin.

"We believe that, by working together, we can create even more opportunities for our employees, provide even greater customer service locally and build for the long-term future of both businesses," he adds.
