DAF plans seven ATFs by February 2011 02 December 2010

DAF dealers will open two Authorised Testing Facilities (ATFs) by the end of this year, the truck manufacturer has confirmed.

The first site, P&K Truck Centre in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, began testing on 29 November, while Imperial Commercials at Frome, Somerset, start operations on 7 December. The latter has been operating as a Designated Premises since April.

DAF adds that these facilities will be joined by a further five, scheduled for operation by the end of February 2011.

John McMenamin, director of retail aftersales at DAF, says that all the new DAF dealer ATFs will have 'Open Access' status – which means they will provide testing for all makes of vehicle.

"We are encouraging DAF dealers to seize this opportunity to improve their service offering to customers, even those with mixed-marque fleets," says McMenamin.

"When allied to DAFcheck, our dealers can offer a 'one-stop-shop' approach, through which all six-weekly inspections and annual testing can be managed more efficiently, to ensure good compliance, and to be carried out more cost-effectively," he adds.
