Stertil Koni helps Staffordshire council with new workshop 07 January 2011

Staffordshire County Council reports that vehicle lifts from Stertil Koni, for its relocated fleet workshop, were successfully installed in just five working days.

The council's fleet manager, Keith Lawson, explains that the project involved installing eight new vehicle lifts, as well as moving and re-installing three existing lifts from the county's old workshop.

Lawson chose: five of Stertil's SK2030 two-post, three-tonne car lifts; two ST4070LV four-post, seven-tonne light commercial lifts with lighting kits and jacking beams; and one ST4175 four-post, 17.5 tonne commercial lift with a nine-metre platform and 12-tonne jacking beam.

Working with distributor Calibration & Consultancy Services, which supplied the air, oil and extraction systems, Stertil's team says it worked flat out to meet Staffordshire's deadline and have the new workshop ready for business.

"Our existing hoists were very old and it didn't make sense to move them to the new workshop," says Lawson. "Stertil's lifts are high quality products and priced very competitively and the team did an excellent job."

The new workshop is responsible for maintaining county council and Staffordshire police vehicles, as well as the range of municipal vehicles and buses.
