DPD Group has service wrapped up with Mercedes-Benz Vans29 May 2015

Parcel distribution business DPD Group has signed up for a bespoke service contract, focusing on vehicle uptime, with Mercedes-Benz Vans.

Called Complete Care, phase one of the contract has now been implemented in DPD's 'region 6', which covers Carlisle, Aberdeen, Dundee, two sites in Glasgow and a 'super hub' in Edinburgh.

The Complete Care solution includes: routine service costs with all parts and labour, lubricants, all friction materials and all clutch friction materials; MOT test fees; and repair or replacement of engine, gearbox, rear axle, all other mechanical components, all computing management systems and all other electrical components.

DPD Group expects to move all its fleet of Mercedes-Benz vans to the Complete Care contract over the next two years.

"This decision takes our relationship with Mercedes-Benz to a new strategic level," says Charlie Shiels, DPD's executive director for central operations.

"We would not have made this decision if we were not 100% comfortable and confident with the network's ability to deliver an amazing service for us. Mercedes Benz is a vital part in helping us deliver our customer promise."
