US vehicle safety provider Safe Fleet has acquired UK aftermarket vehicle parts distributor Durite and vehicle lighting company Labcraft.

Safe Fleet owns a portfolio of brands providing safety solutions to fleet vehicle manufacturers and operators of public service vehicles, emergency services, truck & trailer, construction, agriculture, waste & recycling. It has more than 1,700 employees and 15 manufacturing locations.

“Durite is a great strategic and cultural fit within our fleet safety brand portfolio and establishes a new footprint for Safe Fleet outside of North America,” said Mike Schulte, President of Safe Fleet. “This is an exciting addition to our leading commercial vehicle brands and aftermarket product portfolio.”

“The addition of Labcraft is an important next step in Safe Fleet’s vision to become the leading global supplier of safety solutions for fleet vehicles,” added John R. Knox, Safe Fleet Chairman & CEO. “With Durite and Labcraft now onboard, we are well-positioned for growth in the European commercial vehicle market.”

Durite is a “one-stop brand” for electrical, lighting, and vehicle safety aftermarket products for commercial vehicles in the UK and Ireland. More than 5,000 commercial vehicle products are available through Durite’s website and catalogue.

Labcraft is a manufacturer of high-performance and energy-efficient LED lighting for the commercial vehicle and emergency services sectors. It designs and manufactures a range of interior and exterior low-voltage LED lighting.

Safe Fleet says that both businesses will maintain existing branding and continue to be run as standalone entities.
