As part of the deal, HB Commercial will now be a Krone service agent and parts distributor for the east of England.
“The Krone Box Liner has been initially well accepted by our customers,” says Howard Brunt, HB Commercial’s managing director. “Even with a 25-tonne container, drivers are reporting a very smooth slide.”
The Box Liner features a sliding chassis, which can be easily adjusted to carry any standard-sized dry freight or tank container. Krone says its “no-frills specification” ensures easy and fast operation.
Krone Telematics is fitted to the trailer, in this case allowing both HB Commercials and its customers to monitor tyre pressures, mileage records for maintenance intervals, empty running or reduced-load miles, braking system status and trailer location.
The system can also provide automatic alerts for ABS or EBS malfunctions, as well as if remedial work has not been completed in the specified timeframe.
“We bought some Krone curtainsiders in 2011, which were of a high standard, and these new Box Liners are no exception – premium quality paint finish and designed to cope with the rigours of tough, pick-up-and-drop container work,” says Brunt.
The new Box Liners, adds Brunt, will help the business to meet projected growth in the container carrier rental sector.
