Heavy haulier extends fleet with first Euro 6 DAF XF02 September 2015

Heavy transport specialist T Georgeson Haulage has taken delivery of its first Euro 6 DAF XF 510 FTT Super Space Cab.

The Wigan-based operator's latest vehicle is a 6x4, 510bhp machine and joins two same-spec Euro 5 DAF XFs delivered in August 2012 and September 2013.

The company, which specialises in the transport of ballast for plant and heavy lifting equipment, now has a heavy vehicle fleet of 12, all of which are DAF: four 150-tonners, an 80-tonner and seven 44-tonne tractors.

Owner Tom Georgeson says: "We have a proven track record with DAF vehicles. From a product point of view, the DAF heavy-haulage chassis give us a top-spec, no-nonsense piece of kit." And, he adds, they represent "fantastic value for money".

As well as product quality, Georgeson says the team at Lancashire DAF "will always go the extra mile for me".

T Georgeson has also acquired three Nooteboom ballast trailers, which it has refurbished and which join 11 other trailers in the fleet, including a newly acquired Broshuis double-extender trailer.

"We are seeing a substantial increase in work," adds Georgeson. "Should we decide to increase our fleet in the future, I would have no hesitation in purchasing another DAF vehicle."
