Lockers Trawlers net benefits of Isuzu truck07 December 2016
Fish supplier Lockers Trawlers has taken delivery of its first Isuzu truck, a 3.5-tonner, citing payload and aftersales service as key to the deal.
Supplied by Thompson Commercials in Teeside, the Whitby-based operator’s new addition is being used to deliver fresh fish around the North East, including to customers such as renowned fish and chip shop Magpie Café.
“For many years we have used trucks from another manufacturer, but the waiting time for delivery of a new vehicle was so long we looked around and came across Isuzu,” says Richard Barker of Lockers.
“After taking delivery I initially thought it might perhaps be a little big, but the drivers love it, it is a fantastic vehicle, totally first class,” says, praising the gearbox and giving the vehicle “15 out of 10” for payload.
He also rates Isuzu’s service: “In the past I’ve had all types of vehicles but I’ve never had a call from any other company and certainly nothing like Isuzu Truck’s Care team.”
