Lothian Buses wins National Transport award on SCRT technology 21 November 2013

Exhaust engineering firm Eminox is congratulating Lothian Buses for winning Contribution to Sustainable Transport at the National Transport Awards 2013.

Scotland's largest bus operator was recognised for its commitment to environmental improvements, including a pioneering initiative to retrofit almost 50 of its vehicles with Eminox's low emission SCRT systems, which is claimed to deliver NOx reduction of more than 70% in urban driving conditions.

"This prestigious award is a further testament of our commitment to investing in and improving our transport fleet and customer service," comments Ian Craig, chief executive of Lothian Buses.

"We're delighted to see the team at Lothian Buses getting the recognition they deserve and to have assisted them in meeting their environmental targets," adds Jog Lall, sales and marketing director at Eminox.

"The Scottish Government and City of Edinburgh Council both invested in the project having seen how Eminox SCRT technology can keep older buses on the road for longer by upgrading them to achieve better than the stipulated emissions standards of today's newly manufactured vehicles."

Eminox's closed filter has been proven to remove more than 90% of particulate matter (PM), including ultra fine particles, which are the most damaging to public health. It also virtually eliminates other pollutants such as hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide.
