MAN’s Trucks to Go offer tips it for Inert Recycling06 May 2016

Southampton-based Inert Recycling has taken delivery of its first MAN trucks – four new MAN TGS 35.400 8x4 tippers, supplied by MAN Rental through the Trucks To Go scheme.

The trucks feature the M day cab and are powered by a 12.4-litre, six-cylinder Euro 6 engine, delivering 400bhp at 1,800 rpm and 2,100Nm of torque.

The operator’s 25-strong tipper fleet is mostly Mercedes vehicles, but it wanted to test out a different marque.

Lead time was swift with the Trucks to Go scheme, as Colin Donnelly, Inert’s transport manager, explains: “The MANs were ready to go through the Trucks to Go scheme and we signed up for all four. They were on the road within weeks – two at first and the other two a week later.”

He adds: “It has proved to be a very good deal for us and, although it is still early on in their service, the way they are going, we would certainly be looking at doing more business with MAN in the future.”
