Millers Oils prevent spills with new bottle design 12 June 2014

Modern oils are crucial to meeting commercial vehicle emissions at Euro 6, as well as to maximising engine life. So says Steve Halliwell, business development manager at Millers Oils, which is launching a Flowcontrol oil bottle featuring an easy-pour mechanism.

Making the point that commercial vehicle oils are expected to work harder by an industry demanding longer service intervals and increased efficiency, Halliwell said that the pressure is on operators and workshops to broaden their lubrication knowledge.

"Advances in commercial vehicle drivetrain technologies and tightening of emissions regulations have pushed oil developers to produce lubricants that enable fleets to meet targets and reduce maintenance costs," explains Halliwell.

"These developments have increased the number of OE-specified oils, giving [technicians] a myriad of specifications to select from and stock," he adds.

Ongoing technological evolution requires operators to be updated with oil information to maintain their vehicles properly, says, pointing out that using the incorrect oils can cause damage to engine parts and so increase fleet costs.

Millers Oils' new bottle design enables technicians to control oil flow into an engine without the use of a funnel, preventing contamination and spills.
