More industry leaders join transport industry line-up for IRTE Confrence 22 August 2013

Des Evans, charismatic chief executive of MAN Truck & Bus UK, and Phil Moon, the new product marketing manager with DAF Trucks, will be joining the Euro 6 expert panel at the IRTE Conference on 11 September 2013, at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon.

Other key additions to the speaker line-up include: Mike Kerslake, group technology manager at Alexander Dennis, who will be covering hybrid and electric drivelines; and Terry Brown, fleet engineer with WP Group, and Steve Crawley, global strategic marketing advisor with ExxonMobil Fuels and Lubricants, providing their experience with fuel-reducing aids.

The IRTE Conference will be opened by former FirstGroup chief executive Sir Moir Lockhead OBE – now patron of the SOE (Society of Operations Engineers, the umbrella organisation for the IRTE) – who will give the keynote address.

Other big names on the conference agenda include speakers from Carlsberg, Fowler Welch, KBC Logistics, Lafarge, Sainsbury's and Wincanton.

Topics include: the real engineering and cost implications of Euro 6; experience to date with technologies aimed at reducing fuel consumption and improving efficiency; experience to date with longer semi-trailers and hybrid trucks; and transport law compliance – featuring senior traffic commissioner Beverley Bell and VOSA chief exec Alastair Peoples.
